Have you ever wondered how it became so pink? The captivating blush and bubble-gum hues are a result of carotenoid-producing algae called dunaliella salina. This algae not only provides the lake with its stunning colour but also serves as a natural source of beta-carotene, a food colouring agent, and Vitamin A. For the best experience, we suggest visiting between 10 am to 2 pm when the sun is at its peak.

Located 40 minutes south of Kalbarri and an hour's drive north of Visit Geraldton, you won't miss the stunning Hutt Lagoon, famously known as Pink Lake! From blush to crimson to tinges of red, the colours of Pink Lake are forever changing depending on the time of day, weather and cloud coverage. The best time to visit is between 10am and 2pm when the sun is at it's highest point. Be sure to time your visit and leave ample space in your camera roll 🩷

***FYI - The Kalbarri National Park Inland River Gorge area is closed for one week every year in the first half of February to conduct the annual goat control program. This years 2024 Temporary Closure is from 6am Monday Feb 5th to 6pm Friday Feb 9th inclusive.

The closure will include all roads and fire breaks leading into the inland gorges and day use sites including the -

Nature's Window (Loop Trail)
Z Bend (Including River Trail & Four Ways Trail)
Meanarra Hill Lookout
Hawk's Head
Ross Graham Lookout

***The Kalbarri Skywalk will be OPEN to the public between 9am and 5pm on select dates.
