There’s something rather special about this patch of the Riverland. 🌿
Figbrook Farm is our home, but first and foremost it’s a working farm, with an established fig orchard, gardens filled with life and a place for growing food, keeping hens and bees, encouraging wildlife, preserving a little history and welcoming people from across Australia through the gates.
Tucked amongst it all is our 1915 Train Carriage, still here more than a century after it was built and now giving travellers a rather different way to experience the Riverland, alongside our Garden Cottage.
We’ve put an enormous amount of care into this farm, always with the same idea in mind: to work with what was already here, nurture it and create a place where nature, history and genuine country hospitality can quietly coexist.
It’s lovely to see Figbrook becoming recognised beyond our front gates, while still remaining exactly what we want it to be.
There is still so much we want to do here.
For now, we’ll just keep tending the gardens, growing the figs, caring for this beautiful patch of South Australia and sharing it with those who come through our gates.
