We were fortunate to host these wonderful young people over the last three days…🙏 Kaya (Japan), Maria (Finland) and Rick (Singapore), International students who are based in Brisbane, explored the Great Barrier Reef, Rainforestation and Fitzroy Island during their stay.
We wish them all the very best in their studies and hope to welcome them back one day soon. 🦋

In our garden this morning, this beautiful male Cairns Birdwing butterfly clings to the chrysalis which it has just emerged from….💕🦋

Be Cass-o-wary if you see this view in the wild 😬😬

As iconic as the cassowary is, there are some important things you should know about how to respect this native bird:
1. Always slow down when driving in cassowary territory.
2. Never approach a cassowary.
3. Never feed a cassowary.

Our latest instalment of local exploration took us to Coffee Works, a wonderful boutique family business in the heart of Mareeba! ☕️ 🍫
Coffee Works boasts an array of coffee, chocolates and liqueurs. There is a very interesting museum on site, displaying the history of coffee. There is a fabulous gift shop and naturally a café where you can sit and enjoy a local brew!
What a great spot - a foodie’s delight! We’ll be back for sure and definitely recommend paying a visit! 😃
