We downed tools on Friday for the MATES in Construction initiative, and hosted a BBQs for the teams to reinforce our commitment to su***de prevention. We also proudly wore our TradeMutt shirts to spark conversations and support

Every year, 190 Australians in the construction industry tragically take their own lives. That’s one worker lost to su***de every second day. Construction workers are eight times more likely to die by su***de than in workplace accidents. For young workers, the risk is even higher — more than twice that of other young Australian men.

MATES, a charity founded in 2008, is dedicated to lowering these alarming rates of su***de in the construction industry, and GWH Build has been a longstanding supporter. A huge thank you to everyone who participated today as we continue to raise awareness for this crucial cause.
