A Little Bit of Magic in East Gippsland…

Hidden away near Bruthen is the beautiful Fairy Dell Flora Reserve and it really does feel like you've stepped into another world.

Wander beneath towering trees, through lush green ferns and along peaceful forest tracks surrounded by moss-covered trunks and the sounds of the bush. It's cool, tranquil and wonderfully different from the beaches and lakes we're so well known for.

The approximately 1.6km loop walk is a lovely way to slow down, breathe in the fresh air and enjoy one of East Gippsland's beautiful little hidden gems.

And the best part? Fairy Dell is only around a 45-minute drive from Beachcomber Holiday Units, making it an easy addition to a day exploring the region.

☕ A New Coffee Stop to Add to Your Lakes Entrance List!

We recently popped into **Bones** in Lakes Entrance for a coffee, and we loved it! ☕

Tucked away at 24 Barkes Avenue, Bones is a coffee, vino and grocer inspired by 80s nostalgia and the good old days – a fun little spot that's definitely worth seeking out while you're exploring Lakes Entrance.

But there's also a special Beachcomber connection to Bones…

Bones is owned by the very talented Nephelle, whose artwork you may already recognise if you've stayed with us.

Nephelle created the artwork hanging throughout our units at Beachcomber Holiday Units!

We love being able to incorporate the work of local artists and businesses into Beachcomber, so it's wonderful to now have another reason to send our guests her way.

Right next door you'll also find Nephelle's Saltwater Creative Co, where creativity takes centre stage with art, workshops and classes – another great little local business to discover while you're in town.

Take a Day Trip to Metung

When you're staying in Lakes Entrance, one of the easiest little day trips is to the beautiful village of Metung, just around a 15-minute drive from Beachcomber Holiday Units.

Set on the Gippsland Lakes, Metung is the perfect place to slow down for a few hours and enjoy a change of scenery.

Take a wander along the waterfront, watch the boats come and go, explore the village, stop for a coffee or lunch, and simply enjoy being beside the water.

If you feel like making a full day of it, you could also add a relaxing visit to Metung Hot Springs before heading back to Lakes Entrance.

Spring is such a lovely time to explore East Gippsland – the days are getting longer, the weather is warming up and there's no need to travel far to discover somewhere beautiful.
