Mayor Anderson and McCloy Group celebrate the playground upgrades at The Gardens. Families in Medowie now have improved local play spaces, with McCloy Group delivering upgrades at Creighton Drive Reserve and Kindlebark Oval as part of its commitment to the local community.

The two playground upgrades, with a combined budget of approximately $300,000, were delivered through a Works in Kind Agreement with Port Stephens Council, with approximately $150,000 allocated to each park.

Port Stephens Mayor Leah Anderson said these new playgrounds are a welcome addition to the Medowie community.

“Residents told us what they wanted to see in these spaces and it’s wonderful to see their ideas brought to life so quickly,” Mayor Anderson said.
“Works In Kind agreements are a great way to partner with local developers to improve community facilities and create spaces for our local families to enjoy,” Mayor Anderson added.

McCloy Group was proud to donate $200,000 to Macquarie University MND Research at the 2026 MND Gala Dinner on Friday night, supporting the ongoing fight against MND.

Our Managing Director, Shane Boslem had the privilege of presenting the cheque to Professor Dominic Rowe, hoping to help advance research that brings hope to those impacted by MND. The donation holds special significance as it was made on the anniversary of the passing of our founder and leader Jeffrey McCloy who passed away from Motor Neurone Disease on 27 June 2025.

McCloy Group are honoured to support this important cause and contribute to research that has the potential to change lives. It was an inspiring evening that highlighted the importance of community commitment in the fight against MND.

Today, we pause to recognise the life and legacy of Jeff McCloy. A proud Novocastrian, a builder in every sense of the word, and a man whose impact can be seen across the Hunter Region in hospitals, neighbourhoods, public spaces, civic debate, and the lives of many people he helped along the way.

Jeff McCloy leaves behind a legacy that is physical, civic and personal. He was a builder, a businessman, a civic leader, a philanthropist, and above all, a passionate believer in the Hunter. His life reminds us that legacy is not only what we construct, but what we contribute to our city, to our communities, and to the people around us.

May we remember Jeff with gratitude for what he built, respect for what he gave, and recognition of the lasting imprint he leaves on Newcastle and the Hunter.
Jeff was deeply loved and respected and he is greatly missed.

Last Wednesday, the McCloy Group team proudly joined the Coastal Wayfarers in the Walk to Defeat MND.

Starting at Queens Wharf, the walk followed Newcastle’s stunning coastline, passing through Nobbys Beach and Newcastle Beach before finishing at Redhead Beach. Family, friends, colleagues, and community members came together to honour Jeff McCloy and Narelle Houlcroft, from Coastal Wayfarers while raising awareness and support for those living with Motor Neurone Disease.

A heartfelt thank you to everyone who donated and showed their support. It was a very meaningful day - one that we will always remember. 🤍

McCloy Group team and Coastal Wayfarers will come together today to complete the Walk to Defeat MND, a community walk aimed at raising awareness and funds for Motor Neurone Disease.

The walk holds special significance as it approaches the first anniversary of the passing of our founder and leader Jeffrey McCloy, honours the memory of Narelle Houlcroft of the Coastal Wayfarers who passed away early June 2026 from Motor Neurone Disease.

The team will undertake the journey in Jeff and Narelle's memory while supporting those impacted by MND and hoping to bring awareness to assist in the search for better treatments with the long-term goal of ultimately a cure.

Last week, the McCloy Group attended the UDIA NSW Hunter Property & Infrastructure Forum at NOAH'S on the Beach.

It was another insightful and engaging event, bringing together industry leaders to discuss key opportunities and challenges shaping the region's future.
Our Managing Director, Shane Boslem, joined Tim Goldacre (Harrington Estates) and Amanda Wetzel (Wayplan) on the panel, sharing perspectives and discuss opportunities ahead in the Hunter region.
