Queensland has recorded nine new locally acquired cases of COVID-19, all linked to known cases in the community (August 1).

Parts of Queensland are in a three-day lockdown from 4-PM Saturday (31/7/21) until Tuesday (3/8/21).

The local government areas to lockdown include Brisbane, Logan, Moreton Bay, Ipswich, Redlands, Sunshine Coast, Gold Coast, Noosa, Somerset, Lockyer Valley and Scenic Rim.

People in the relevant local government areas can only leave their home for essential reasons including; buying groceries or medication within 10-kilometres, work or study that cannot be done at home, exercise and healthcare or providing healthcare for another.

It comes after an Indooroopilly State High School student tested positive to coronavirus along with six other close contacts.

Anybody who was at Indooroopilly State High School between 8:00am and 10:00am on Tuesday or between 8:00am and 3:30pm on Wednesday is a close contact of the student and must isolate and get tested.

Queensland Health is urging anyone with symptoms to get tested
