Residents at Carlyle Gardens Mackay came together this morning for a special ANZAC Day ceremony, thoughtfully organised by the residents themselves.

It was a meaningful time to pause, reflect and pay our respects, while honouring the courage, service and sacrifice of those who have served.

A heartfelt thank you to everyone who helped bring the ceremony together and to all who attended this important moment of remembrance. Lest we forget. ❤️

Announcing our 2026 BlueCare Artwork Calendar winners! ✨🎨

We received 150+ heartfelt entries from residents and support staff across BlueCare, and 28 artworks have been selected for our “Celebrate Every Moment” calendar. 🖼️💙 Huge congratulations to all featured artists — your creativity and stories shine! 🎉

📅 The calendar heads to print soon and will be distributed to BlueCare retirement living villages, aged care homes, and respite centres before the end of 2025.

Say hello to Chappy Del – the new Chaplain for all state schools in the Mackay region. 💛 She recently stopped by Carlyle Gardens to meet our amazing craft ladies, who’ve lovingly created another beautiful batch of handmade teddies. 🧸 These special bears will soon bring comfort to local children going through a tough time. A big thank you to everyone involved in this thoughtful initiative – your kindness truly makes a difference. 💕

Flood Warnings are already in place in some areas, including a Major Flood Warning for the Bohle River in Townsville. Other rivers in the area are on Flood Watch, with more rain forecast for the weekend ahead.

Do you know the difference between a Flood Watch and a Flood Warning?

A Flood Watch:
❌ isn't a warning of imminent flooding
✅ is a 'heads up' for possible future flooding
✅ provides early advice of a developing situation

A Flood Warning:
✅ is issued when flooding is more certain
✅ is more targeted and issued for specific locations
✅ can include predictions about the severity or level of flooding
