Ooolala! 🤩 Scored a Red-tailed Black Cockatoo just perfectly contrasting against the creamy bark of the Karri forest today — a shot I’ve been dreaming of for YEARS!

Not gonna lie... it’s not the world’s greatest photo (snapped through the windscreen in a matter of seconds 😅), but sometimes it’s about the moment, not the megapixels.

Looks like a juvenile male — you can see those striped tail feathers starting to shift into those fiery solid reds. That tail says “hello puberty!” 🔥 Probably around 4–5 years old and strutting into adulthood like a boss.

Seriously though, how good is the colour show of South West WA forests 👍.
