Not because it is unfair, but because it is detailed.

A serious buyer is basically asking: “Is this business what I think it is, and can I rely on it?”

They will look at your numbers, but also the structure underneath. Contracts, leases, key staff arrangements, licences, and whether there are any loose ends that could turn into risk.

They will also look at how the business runs day to day. If everything sits in your head, buyers get nervous. If there are simple systems, buyers relax.

The good news is due diligence can be one of the smoothest parts of the sale, if you start preparing early.......
