It is my pleasure to have been nominated and elected as President of Shire Horse Breeders Australia. I am committed to working with members to advance the interests of the Shire horse breed. Our association offers various educational and competitive events, including clinics and shows, culminating in the Australian Heavy Horse Spectacular in May. We encourage anyone passionate about Shire horses to join our community, whether or not they own a Shire horse. Meetings are conducted online via Zoom. We have had the beautiful photos sent to us today , these are of Edward , Edward was an absolute character and I was really sad to see him go to his new home , but knew he would be loved and cared for . The really lovely part of this is that Edward was out of a recip mare , we did an embryo transfer and beautiful Edward was born, full of cuteness, but the very strange thing was his genetic mum was carrying sovereign and both grew together, but as every one knows who follows us, we sadly lost sovereign at 8 months old. But another twist to the story is Robbie who has just come back to us was from the same year’s foals.

The owner of Edward wrote a message along with these lovely photos saying he is a credit to our breeding, so nice to hear that back from people who have our shires , we have spent over 3 decades breeding, working and showing shires and running a carriage company with shire horses , really nice when people appreciate what we do .

Sovereign was a big part of our life and as everyone know which is why we have named our new business sovereign shires.

It’s so nice to see his full brother Edward grow and mature and enjoy life

Been very busy this week the new truck is coming along really well all partitions are done and fitted and now they have been painted , the prime mover is away being resprayed , and little Robbie has settled in well , a couple of days and he will go in with his new teammates

We would like to welcome out last member of our show team . We bred king rob roy nearly four years ago , his grandsire is our amazing Uk premium shire stallion Ddrydwy drayhorse ace of spades , and Robbie is sired by our homebred stallion Drayhorse king of spades. His dam is mingara Alexandria or Lexi as she was know , we sadly lost Lexi the year after Robbie was born , but she was a beautiful mare. Robbie left us as a foal and made the huge journey over to Western Australia where he was loved and looked after by Samantha . Robbie left Western Australia nearly 2 weeks ago and made the journey back home to where he was born . We are looking forward to seeing Robbie flourish and be part of our team here at sovereign shires
