SYMPHONY 7 Case Study Update:

Even though I've been in Jakarta, Indonesia, for the past few weeks, the beauty of a unique team is that you are able to keep things rolling via WhatsApp messaging and videos.

Communication doesn't stop; progress doesn't stop. It's pretty much instant. Things keep rolling and that's important when you've got a unique team around you.

With Symphony 7 we are progressing now to stages where we are doing the external tiling in the pool and barbecue area.
The electrical fit out is happening.

Notice the curved stone under the bench on the left-hand side that was supposed to be a non-stone element.

The stone supplier, because of the volume of work we give them, added matching stone as a little value add for us 😀

UPDATE MASTER WIR: we have expanded the walk-in robe space, we've gone from a 760 mm walkway between the robes to a 1 m walkway.

All the plastering is done and we have prepped ready for our master painter.

So, exciting times ahead despite winter being upon us. Everyone is able to focus and adjust work accordingly.

Looking forward to landing back in Melbourne next Monday and going there to see it for myself.

At RÜÜHM, when we design for our clients, we always keep in mind the rule of 3...

3 material choices in one room is a MAXIMUM

1 material choice can look too clinical
2 material choices is safe
3 material choices requires real skill to pull it off...get it wrong and it looks like a dogs breakfast

In this pic we see colour coordination of the 45 degree angled screens ( #1) against the lotus flower shaped timber ceiling screens ( #2) and timber ceiling ( #3)...all masterfully put together for shape, size and colour

Case study update Symphony No. 7.

Exciting weeks ahead now.
- Oak flooring is in.
- Stone bench tops are arriving this week.
- Painting will start early next week.

The final leg of the project is coming together very nicely.

Looking forward to sharing some videos once I get back from Jakarta.

Unfortunately there's only going to be a handful of these update videos left before we go into a complete blackout period where I will stop sharing updates as we clean up and prepare Symphony 7 for its grand reveal, which I will be inviting you to.

Here's the latest update, which is an exciting milestone in a new home build.

While our Symphony No. 7 project in Black Rock is progressing ahead of schedule, we are busy in the background working on a duplex in Preston and two luxury homes in Aberfeldie.
These projects are going to be a real wow for the suburbs.

Symphony #7 case study update:

Today we landed the perfect weather to be doing our burnished concrete finishes to our external landscape plan:

What Is Burnished Concrete?

Burnished concrete (also called polished or trowel-burnished concrete) is achieved by repeatedly working the surface with a steel trowel — either by hand or with a power trowel machine — over several hours as the concrete progressively stiffens.

Each pass is timed carefully and the pressure increased, gradually closing and densifying the surface to produce a smooth, hard, low-sheen to high-gloss finish.

The result looks almost stone-like — dense, tight, and with a subtle reflective quality. It's the same family of finish used on high-end interior floors, just applied externally.
