Most local businesses waste money on ads that don’t work.

Google Local Service Ads can change that.

🚀 Pay ONLY for verified leads
🔍 Get your business on the TOP of Google
📞 Calls, messages, and bookings all in one place

But most businesses make costly mistakes when setting this up.

Here are the four biggest mistakes to avoid:

❌ Not having enough customer reviews – More reviews = more leads
❌ Choosing too few service areas – Expand to reach more customers
❌ Ignoring lead verification – Approve the right leads to get more from Google
❌ Setting up without checking for availability – Not all locations are eligible

Fix these mistakes, and you’ll get more leads without spending more money.

Want a step-by-step guide to set this up correctly? Drop a 🔥 in the comments, and I’ll share the exact process.

They say you need a huge budget for Google Ads… WRONG!

💰 You don’t need $2,000 per month
📉 You don’t need to outspend your competitors
🎯 You don’t need to guess what works

The truth? Google Ads can work even with a budget as small as $50 per month—if you use the right strategy.

Most agencies push big budgets because it benefits *them*, not *you*. But smart advertisers know better. Here’s how to make Google Ads work with a small budget:

✅ Target the right keywords** – Focus on high-intent search terms, not broad general ones.
✅ **Set a strict location** – Limit your ads to people who are actually in your area.
✅ **Use search campaigns** – Forget about Performance Max if you're a local business.
✅ **Optimize every 72 hours** – Regularly check search terms and exclude wasteful keywords.
✅ **Narrow your schedule** – Only run ads when customers are most likely to convert.
✅ **Use audience data** – Identify which groups engage most and adjust bids accordingly.

One of my clients started with $50 a month and thought Google Ads wouldn’t work. A month later, they landed their first high-ticket customer directly from their ad campaign.

Stop believing the myth that Google Ads is only for big spenders. With the right setup, even a small daily budget can bring in leads.

Want a full breakdown of how to run Google Ads on a tight budget? Let’s talk.

Most contractors fail at marketing. Here’s why.

💸 They throw money at ads without tracking results
📉 They ignore SEO and never rank on Google
🤷‍♂️ They rely on word-of-mouth and hope for leads
📻 They waste cash on outdated ads like radio and print
📱 They don’t use short-form videos to grab attention

If your business isn’t getting steady leads, your marketing is broken.

We scaled our fencing business fast using:

🔍 Google Verified + Google Ads + SEO
📍 Google Maps to show up in local searches
📱 Facebook Ads (only in the right markets)
🎥 YouTube & TikTok short videos for free exposure
⭐ Reviews—because social proof is everything

Hiring experts to manage ads made all the difference.

At first, we tried doing it ourselves. Wasted money. Got weak results.

Once we paid professionals, our leads exploded.

If you’re not on the first page of Google, you don’t exist to customers.

David did excavation and spent $10 a day on Google Ads.

He was competing with giants—companies with marketing budgets bigger than his entire revenue.

Yet, within months, his small business was turning a profit.

How? By using three key Google Ads strategies that work even on a small budget.

📌 Set a realistic budget
- You need at least 10 clicks per day to get useful data.
- If your cost-per-click is $1.50, aim for $15 per day in ad spend.

🔑 Focus on one product or service
- Spreading a small budget across multiple services waters down results.
- Start with your **best-selling product or service** to maximize conversions.

⚡ Use aggressive ad copy
- Be super specific to attract the right audience.
- Include **clear pricing** so only serious buyers click.
- Set expectations—for example, advertise "couples-only villas" instead of "luxury stays" to avoid wasted clicks.

Small businesses CAN compete with bigger brands.

You just need the right strategy.

If your quotes aren't converting, it's because you've missed out on some essential steps in getting someone to accept a quote, especially for a big-ticket item like an excavation job. They need to know, trust, and like you before they’re going to buy from you. Without these elements, you’ll continue showing up for quotes only to be ghosted after sending them.

It shouldn't be this way because there is a better approach to build these necessary relationships.

To get someone to know, trust, and like you, follow this simple framework:

1. **Know You**: Make sure clients understand your business, why you are unique, and how your offer stands out from the competition.

1. **Trust You**: Show clients what you’ve delivered before, explaining why your approach is special and different from what they’ve seen elsewhere.

1. **Like You**: Your conduct, responsiveness, and professionalism play crucial roles. Building upon initial trust will lead to likeability.

Commit to this framework, or else you will continue to struggle with the old way of doing things.

Isn't it terrible waking up on a Monday morning with an empty inbox? The scramble begins—browsing through endless websites, cold-calling people, hoping to find someone who needs excavation work. It's exhausting and ineffective.

Without a proper system, you're missing out on crucial opportunities. It doesn't have to be this way. Imagine having a system that works while you sleep, filling your inbox with inquiries from potential clients who need reliable excavation services.

You need a system that manages the mundane tasks, attracts the right clients, and keeps the business running smoothly. Without it, you'll be the system, risking burnout and inefficiency.

Invest in systems that do the heavy lifting, and watch your business grow while maintaining your sanity. Don't let the old way hold you back—embrace better methods to thrive in the excavation industry.

Many lead generation campaigns fall short because they assume buyers know what they need. This mistake costs excavation companies a fortune in missed opportunities. The good news? There's a better way.

From my experience with over 20,000 campaigns, I've developed a framework that ensures ad dollars convert into new clients and quotes. Here’s the secret: Your ads shouldn't aim to close the sale. Instead, their purpose is to drive traffic to a landing page.

Make sure your landing page matches the ad and addresses all concerns that might prevent potential customers from reaching out. Clearly communicate the benefits of contacting your business, such as getting answers, more information, and moving closer to their goals.

Develop processes for responding to inquiries that build on the trust established by your ads. These processes should be repeatable and monitorable, from engagement to quoting, and importantly, follow-up. After completing a job, turn your customers into raving fans to attract even more business.

Call to action: Embrace this approach or you'll continue struggling with ineffective lead generation campaigns.
