I was 30 years old, had three young kids and was facing bankruptcy.
I wasn't lazy. I wasn't afraid of hard work.
I simply realised that nobody had ever taught me how money actually worked.
Like most Australians, I was taught to work hard, earn an income, pay the bills and eventually pay off the mortgage.
But nobody sat me down and taught me about managing money, debt, investing, tax, property, building wealth or how much I would actually need to retire.
I had to learn those lessons the hard way.
I rebuilt my financial life and, for the past 15 years, I've been helping everyday Australians take greater control of theirs.
