Melissa Opie as a Finalist for the REIV Buyers Agent of the Year 2023 and KPI as a Finalist for the Small Residential Real Estate Agency of the Year 2023. As the Director of a small hardworking agency, I am proud to announce that KPI are finalists for the REIV Small Residential Agency of the Year 2022. This is the 10th year we have either been a finalist or the winner of this award.

At the weekend 342 properties sold at or before auction,138 properties passed in with a 71% auction clearance rate consistent with last week. At the same time last year, the auction clearance rate was 98%.

There were 770 auction results reported to the REIV from the weekend which resulted in a clearance rate of 70%. 536 properties sold under the hammer and 234 properties passed in. For the same time last year, the auction clearance rate was in the 90’s.

Since we have moved to a more balanced market, we are seeing more investors taking advantage of less buyer demand coupled with low vacancy rates and rises in rents. With Melbourne’s vacancy rate below 3% there are simply not enough quality rental properties to satisfy the demand.

We are also getting enquires from home buyers who are wanting to upgrade their residences who were priced out last year but with less buyer demand at present are more confident of being able to buy at a realistic price.
