🇩🇯🇦🇺 DJIBOUTI PROUDLY REPRESENTED AT THE 2026 PREMIER’S MULTICULTURAL GALA DINNER
On Saturday, 22 August 2026, the Executive Committee of the Djibouti Community Council of Australia (DCCA), led by Chairman Bachir Mohamed, proudly attended the 2026 Premier’s Multicultural Gala Dinner at the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre.
It was a great honour for DCCA to represent Djibouti and the Djiboutian-Australian community at this important celebration of Victoria’s multicultural communities.
Throughout the evening, Chairman Bachir Mohamed had valuable discussions with Victorian and Federal Government representatives about the Djiboutian community in Australia and strengthening the relationship between Djibouti and Australia.
DCCA was pleased to engage with Premier of Melbourne Ben Carroll, Minister for Multicultural Affairs Paul Edbrook MP, Assistant Minister for Citizenship and Multicultural Affairs Julian Hill MP, Iwan Walters MP Member for Greenvale Parliamentary Secretary for Multicultural Affairs, and many other Members of Parliament, government members and community leaders.
These discussions provided an important opportunity to highlight the growing Djiboutian community in Melbourne, our achievements, our future aspirations, and the potential for stronger cooperation and engagement between Australia 🇦🇺 and Djibouti 🇩🇯.
DCCA will continue working to ensure that the voice of the Djiboutian community is heard and that our culture, identity and contribution to multicultural Australia are proudly represented.
This is another important step forward for our community and we look forward to sharing more positive news soon.
