VIC RENTAL LAWS ARE CHANGING

There are some important rental law changes which come into effect in Victoria from 13 October 2026, if you’re a rental provider, you need to know what’s changing.

Two things we’ll be paying particular attention to are:

✔️ Rental Minimum Standards�Rental providers will need to keep records showing that their property met the required minimum standards when it was advertised or offered for rent.

✔️ Bond Claims�Rental providers will need to notify renters before making a claim against the bond and provide evidence to support the claim.

Good records and good property management have always been important — and these changes make them even more so.

So today, check in with the people around you — family, friends, workmates, clients or even someone you haven’t spoken to in a while.

And if someone asks “Are you okay?”, remember you don’t have to say “I’m fine” if you’re not.

A little re-introduction... 👋

Hi, I'm Rebecca ( Bec ) For those who are new here, I thought I'd take a moment to reintroduce myself.

I've been working in the real estate industry for around six years across both sales and property management, and I believe that clear communication and strong relationships make all the difference.

I pride myself on being approachable, reliable and creating genuine relationships with buyers, sellers, rental providers and renters, making sure everyone feels supported and informed throughout the entire process.

Whether it's helping someone find the right home, navigating the rental process or simply being there to answer questions, I genuinely enjoy working with people and helping make what can often be a stressful process a little easier.

Outside of work, I'm a wife and mum of three, and we're also excitedly awaiting the arrival of our very first grandchild.

When I'm not working, you'll usually find me spending time with family and friends, heading off on caravan adventures or enjoying weekends away making memories with the people I love most.

FYI for all home owner and Tenants within the Melton Shire.

Homeowners and renters can drop off green garden waste for free during December at the Melton Recycling Facility.
Located at 33 Ferris Road, Cobblebank, it is open 8am to 4:30pm every day, except Christmas Day.
This is available to all residents (homeowners & renters) in the City of Melton. Proof of ID required – if you are a property owner, show your drivers licence. Tenants can show a utility bill.
Please note:
🍃No mixed loads (green garden waste only)
🍃no commercial operators, commercial loads or trucks are permitted
🍃limbs and branches should not be greater than 30cm in diameter.
