🐳7:35am: A Whale was spotted breaching between Wright Island and the Bluff, Victor Harbor. Headed towards Granite Island.

PSA! The whales are returning to Victor Harbor, and we have a feeling that June over there is about to be pretty extraordinary. 🐋

Winter Whale Fest runs all month long, with 30+ events celebrating the annual return of Southern Right Whales to the waters of Encounter Bay.

Think First Nations cultural ceremonies, a Viking festival with a longship burning at dusk, world-class art, guided night sky storytelling, and a community lantern parade that lights up the whole town.

Don't miss the Kondoli Lantern Parade on 20 June; hundreds of handcrafted whale lanterns move through the heart of Victor Harbor to the sea. One of those evenings you'll want to be there for.

🐳2:35pm 1 Humpback Whale breaching near West Island, headed west.

🐳12:50pm: One Humpback spotted close to the Screwpile Jetty, Granite Island, Victor Harbor.

🐳🐳🐳2:30pm: Possibly Three Whales spotted between Cape Willoughby Lighthouse and The Pages, Kangaroo Island.

🐳11:25am: Humpback Whale spotted between Seal Island, and Wright Island, Victor Harbor, reported by our friends at thew The Big Duck Boat Tours

No better way to start a week than with a whale sighting. If you're out and about, head to Encounter Bay for a chance to spot one.

🐳9:40am: A whale sighting has been reported between Wright Island and The Bluff, Encounter Bay. More info to come.

🐳🐳3:45pm: Two Whales suspected to be Blue Whales spotted off Cape Du Couedic, Kangaroo Island
