Located in the heart of Tasmania's World Class Trout Fishery. The Shannon Rise Lodge is a fully self contained lodge accomodating up to 8 people in comfortable surroundings. Our home is your home away from home. Overlooking the shores of Great Lake, at the township of Miena in the Central Highlands of Tasmania. The Shannon Rise Lodge Facilities

The Shannon Rise Lodge Location

The Shannon Rise lodge is located on the Lake Highway at Miena. The lodge offers magnificent views over Haddens Bay on Great Lake, and Western Lakes region. The lodge is only minutes to the Great Lake Hotel, boat ramp and surrounding Highland waters including, Arthur’s, Penstock, Little Pine and the Western Lakes on the Upper Plateau. By car the Shannon Rise Lodge is only 1 hour and 30 min to Launceston, 1 hour and 15 min to Launceston airport, 2 hours to Devonport where the Spirit of Tasmania Ferry service is available and 2 hours from Hobart.

Guys and Girls,
It is with sadness and disappointment after 23years, that our Shack
“The Shannon Rise Lodge” has been placed on the market for sale.
The Shack has evolved over the years, from a weathered timber clad shack to what it is today.
A comfortable spacious Shack with magnificent views overlooking Haddens Bay on the Great Lake.
Over the past 23years, we’ve had guests stay at the Lodge from all over the world, from all walks of life.
I’m sure if the walls could talk, with the stories that would have been told, the conversations had and the amount of fish caught in the lounge room, front and rear decks.
Thank you to all our guests who have stayed and friends made along the journey.
The Shannon Rise Lodge will always hold fond special memories for me, of great times, good friends that won’t be forgotten.

Happy New Year everyone,
Are you looking for accommodation in the Central Highlands Region?
The Shannon Rise Lodge can accommodate your needs. The Lodge is located at Miena, with magnificent Great Lake Views overlooking Haddens Bay.
The Lodge is fully self contained, sleeping 7 guests in comfort. We have a library full of books and magazines for the fishing enthusiasts and fly tying equipment for the fly fishers.
The 2025 fishing season is well and truly underway with Mayflies/Dunns hatching at Penstock Lagoon, Woods Lake and Arthur’s.
The World Renowned 19 Lagoons is open, with Browns tailing in the shallows.
We have some vacancies over the next couple of months if you are looking to head up to the highlands.
