Wollongbar Urban Expansion Area Sewerage Scheme - A gravity sewerage system to be constructed with a combination of trenched and trenchless methods. A sewage pump station, emergency storage, electrical switch room and appurtenant works. Part sewage rising main; and water supply, and Part gravel access track.

Crux Surveying were engaged by Eire Contractors to carry out the surveying setout and Work as Executed of the Wollongbar Urban Expansion Area Sewerage Scheme.

Sensitive excavation in Sydney’s Darling Harbour; to facilitate future construction works.
The works included the diversion / installation of major stormwater services (precast box culverts, stormwater pipes) to prominent locations, including difficult shoring requirements, and installation under existing bridge structures.

The Delhi Road Roadworks, Landscaping and Traffic Signals Contract encompassed Civil Works to the North Ryde Train Station frontage, including construction of new road pavements, signage & linemarking, kerbs, gutters, trench drains, conduit trenching (including a 200m - 600 diameter underground bore) retaining walls & footpath pavements (including earthworks.)

The Mardi-Mangrove Link Project is a key element of WaterPlan 2050 which is the long term water supply strategy for the Central Coast. It will help to secure the region’s town water supply over the next four decades by linking Wyong River and Ourimbah Creek to Mangrove Creek Dam, via Mardi Dam.

The project is an initiative of Gosford City and Wyong Shire Councils with Australian Government funding of $80.3 million from the Water Smart Australia Program and an additional $40 million combined from the two Councils. The Mardi-Mangrove Link pipeline is the largest water infrastructure project undertaken on the Central Coast since the mid-1980s when Mangrove Creek Dam was built.

The project was awarded to John Holland Pty Ltd in 2009. John Holland initially engaged Crux Surveying’s in February 2010 to provide setout and work as executed plans for the DN1000 pipeline, valve pits, structures, pump station, electrical reticulation and fish weir. The Mardi – Mangrove Link had an original design which needed to be redesigned due to unforeseen circumstances. The redesign was to also take into account the approved construction corridor, which at times was only 10m wide, the steep terrain and availability of pipe and bends. Because of the strict timeframe a redesign was to be carried out in conjunction with the construction of the pipeline.

John Holland approached Crux Surveying based on its experience in designing roads and drainage. Designing a 21km DN1000 pipeline, consisting of pipe bridges, valve pits and a 300m Horizontal Directional Drilling creek crossing was a major challenge, but Crux Surveying rose to the challenge. With the knowledge of, and liaison with, John Holland’s engineers, Crux succeeded in providing the construction crews with 35 pages of design. Each page consisted of approximately 600m of pipe long section and plan.

Crux Surveying was also involved in some minor structure and pipe redesign for the
two pump stations and existing pipe tie-ins.

Ausgrid invested $180 million into this project to construct a new zone substation and integrated commercial development on its property fronting Pitt, Hay and Campbell Streets, Haymarket.

This project is part of Ausgrid's Sydney CityGrid project. This development has been undertaken for the CBD electricity network for sustainable electricity over the next decade and beyond.

The Belmore Park substation development will be constructed in two stages. The first will be construction of the stand alone substation. Timing of the commercial section of the development is still to be determined.

Crux Surveying was engaged by Ford Civil to setout the initial ground works and excavation of this project. The job entailed a lot of piling around perimeter of this site which fronts 3 busy Sydney City streets.

The work undertaken included:
- Setout of bulk excavation of approximately 25m into solid sandstone.
- Setout and asbuilt of tunnelling under Campbell Street
- Setout of drainage channels.
- Setout of all footings
- Setout of tower crane
- Asbuilt of all walls and excavation platform

Work on the new substation is scheduled for completion in 2012.

The iconic Park Hyatt Sydney is undertaking a dramatic transformation, the largest renovation in its 21 year history.

The renovation programme will take place over a period of seven months, and involves closure of the hotel to allow for the extensive work to be completed. Park Hyatt Sydney is due to re-open its doors at the end of 2011.

The revitalisation of the hotel will include the addition of three luxury rooftop suites and significant changes to all areas of the hotel - setting a new benchmark in contemporary luxury.

The multi-million dollar project will involve a complete redesign of the hotel’s guest rooms, including architectural fixtures and finishes, custom designed contemporary lighting, new furniture and unique artwork by renowned Australian artists.

Crux Surveying was engaged by Built to:
- Set-out all 166 rooms
- Mark finished heights throughout the hotel
- Set-out of additional storey on building
- Boundary definition and set-out on boardwalk
- Set-out of Gym and Spa rooms
- Set-out on ground floor (lobby, restaurant and all other amenities)
- As-built of existing structures for architects on all levels and roof top
- As-built of existing columns throughout building
