Looking at this bright, air-filled space, your first instinct might be to assume a brand-new pale timber floor was laid down. The reality? This is the exact same, original Spotted Gum .
From a design standpoint, the heavy, saturated 2000s orange tones were competing with the clean lines of the modern kitchen. To solve this, we restored instead of replacing.
We precision-sanded the original timber, executed a bleaching process, and finished it with a custom Grey Blend lime wash. By neutralizing those intense red undertones, the floor now beautifully reflects the natural light, completely elevating the scale and flow of the entire open-plan layout.
