Roasted Asparagus with Bacon, Garlic, and Gruyere Cheese

Ingredients:
1 pound fresh asparagus, trimmed
4-6 slices of bacon, cooked and crumbled
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 cup Gruyere, Parmesan, or Asiago cheese, grated
Olive oil
Salt and pepper to taste
Fresh parsley, chopped (optional, for garnish)
Instructions:
Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
Place the trimmed asparagus spears on a baking sheet. Drizzle with olive oil and toss to coat the asparagus evenly. Season with salt and pepper.
Roast the asparagus in the preheated oven for about 10-15 minutes, or until they are tender but still crisp.
While the asparagus is roasting, cook the bacon until it's crispy. Once cooked, crumble it into small pieces.
In a small bowl, mix together the minced garlic and grated cheese.
Once the asparagus is done roasting, remove it from the oven and sprinkle the bacon crumbles over the asparagus.
Sprinkle the cheese and garlic mixture evenly over the asparagus and bacon.
Return the baking sheet to the oven and bake for an additional 5-7 minutes or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
Carefully remove the baking sheet from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes.
Optional: Garnish with chopped fresh parsley before serving.
