Today could be the day that the babies leave home.

We have been watching this W***y Wagtail nest for several weeks now. First they repaired and added to the remains of last year's nest, laid 3 eggs and kept them warm before 3 little babies hatched out. They have protected the babies vigorously, dive bombing us whenever we go out the door. Now the babies are almost ready to leave the lovely little nest. We love our garden birds.

We went for drive today.Lunch at beautiful Metung, bought fresh fish at the co-op in Lakes Entrance, checked out the pelicans and the Entrance, Lake Tyers Beach and the real treat was seeing whales from the Red Bluff Lookout. And to top it all off a visit to this amazing construction, the Trestle Bridge near Nowa Nowa. A lovely day out and all close to home.
