🎄🎨 Face Painter Wanted – Christmas Carols! 🎨🎄

We’re looking for a friendly face painter to help bring some festive fun to our upcoming Christmas carols!

📅 Date: Sauturday the 21st of November
⏰ Time required: 4pm to 7:00pm
📍 Location: Mundoolun Park

This is a paid role, though if someone would like to volunteer their time, we would be very grateful! ❤️

🎄🙌 VOLUNTEERS NEEDED – MUNDOOLUN CHRISTMAS CAROLS! 🙌🎄

Our Christmas Carols are coming up on Saturday, 21 November, and Mundoolun Community Centre needs a few helping hands to bring this special community celebration to life! ❤️

There are plenty of ways to lend a hand:

📅 Thursday, 19 November
• Afternoon: Help drive star pickets into the ground.
• Evening: Peel vegetables and help with food preparation.

📅 Friday, 20 November
• Evening: Peel vegetables and help with food preparation.

📅 Saturday, 21 November
• Morning: Help set up for the event.
• During the day: Lend a hand in the kitchen.
• From 4 pm: Help serve and sell food.
• During the event: Help operate the popcorn machine! 🍿

Even an hour or two would make a big difference. These events are made possible by wonderful volunteers, and we would love to have you join us.

🌿 A little time for yourself can make a big difference! 🌿

Life gets busy, and we often forget to pause and look after ourselves. Come along to Raja Yoga Meditation at Mundoolun Community Centre and start your Saturday with a little peace, connection and positivity. 💛

What is Raja Yoga meditation?
It is a gentle practice that uses quiet reflection and focused thoughts to develop self-awareness and a calmer mind. “Raja” means “king”, reflecting the idea of becoming the master of your own thoughts and responses.

Taking time to practise can help you unwind, bring your attention back to the present and approach everyday challenges with greater calm. You don’t need to stop every thought or have any previous experience, just come along and give it a try!

Our sessions also include gentle chair exercises with relaxing music, offering a welcoming way to ease into the morning.

❤️ Full tables, delicious food, dancing and community spirit, what a night at Come Dine With Us! ❤️

A long weekend AND grand final day, and we still packed the Mundoolun Community Centre! Thank you to everyone who came along and made last night so special. 🥰

We were delighted to partner with Logan City Council to deliver a disaster preparedness program, combining valuable information about being ready and staying safe with a wonderful evening of food, music and friendship.

👏 A huge shout-out to Angel from Logan City Council, you were fantastic! Thank you for delivering the program and helping our community feel better prepared. It was lovely to see the children getting involved in activities at the Get Ready display too!

The photos capture what these evenings are all about: neighbours sharing a meal, children joining in, guests enjoying a dance and people of all ages coming together. Add beautiful live music, a delicious roast dinner and cakes to share, and we had plenty to smile about! 🍽️🎶💃

A few heartfelt thank-yous to the people who made it happen:

💛 Our management committee, especially Keith and Debbie, thank you for your tremendous help and the time and energy you give to our community.

👨‍🍳 Basil, mate, although work took you away, you have trained us well, we delivered! The food was divine once again. Thank you for helping us build the confidence to keep everyone so well fed!

❤️ To my wife, Jacqui, up at 3 am for the community markets and still there until we finished at the centre. What an enormous day. Thank you for everything you do, often behind the scenes, for me and for our community.

🌏 To my nephew, Saurabh Kohli, who came all the way from the USA, it was wonderful to have you with us and share this community evening with you.

🎤 Clarence Hart, what a voice! Thank you for the wonderful entertainment and for sharing the story of Peggy and the magpie. Seeing people up dancing made it even more special!

🎁 Jo, President of Rotary Beaudesert, thank you for generously providing our lucky door prize.

And to everyone who attended and everyone who helped prepare, cook, serve and clean up, thank you. These evenings happen because people give their time, their energy and their hearts.

Come Dine With Us is about more than a meal. It’s a place to connect, make friends and feel part of your community. 💚

✅ Preparing an emergency kit

✅ Looking out for vulnerable family members, neighbours and pets
✅ Building community resilience and supporting neighbours during emergencies
✅ Accessing support and information during emergencies
