Murgon Market Report 15th September 2026
Numbers were back up to 800 in Murgon today. The market was dearer throughout for most descriptions. Better quality Bullocks, Heavy cows & Heifers, as well as better types of weaner aged cattle were noticeably dearer. Feeder steers & heifers were short in number. Heavy Bulls topped at $4.08 c/kg for $3450.00. Bullocks sold to $4.46 c/kg & $3025.00. Heavy Cows over 600 kilograms sold to dearer rates topping at $3.86 per kilogram and $2620.00. Cows 400 to 500kg sold to $3.68 for $1810.00. Lighter Cows under 400 kg sold to $3.38 c/kg & $1070.00. Export heifers topped at $4.46 c/kg and $2560.00. Steers 400 to 500kg were very mixed in quality selling to $4.88 per kilo and $2170.00. Steers in the 300 to 400 kg bracket sold to $5.18 c/kg and $1640.00. Heifers 400 to 500 kg sold to $4.20 and $1870.00. Heifers from 300 to 400 kg topped at $4.92 per kilo and $1800.00. Better quality weaner steers sold strongly to top at $5.56 & $1390.00. The best of the weaner heifers sold to $4.48 c/kg & $1090.00 c/kg. Red Angus cows & calves sold to $1750.00.

Murgon Market Report 1st September 2026
Numbers were back to 650 in Murgon, the lowest number in months. This helped most values to remain firm, with some descriptions selling to slightly dearer rates. The yarding was of very mixed quality. No Bullocks were yarded to quote on. Heavy Bulls improved, topping at $3.84 c/kg for $3450.00. Heavy Cows were also slightly dearer selling to$3.76 per kilogram and $2670.00. Cows 400 to 500kg sold to $3.65 for $1780.00. Lighter Cows under 400 kg sold to $2.88 & $1100.00. Export heifers topped at $4.00 c/kg and $2180.00. Steers 400 to 500kg were very mixed in content selling to $4.90 per kilo and $2280.00. Steers in the 300 to 400 kg bracket sold to $4.40 c/kg and $1580.00. Heifers 400 to 500 kg sold to $4.04 and $1960.00. The market for heifers 300 to 400kg topped at $4.50 per kilo and $1730.00. Weaner steers sold to $4.85 & $1230.00. The best of the weaner heifers yarded sold to $4.20 c/kg & $1030.00, with a big percentage selling between $3.00 & $3.50. Droughtmaster cows & calves sold to $1825.00.
