Providence Walers Walers Horse Stud. So when I saw a program on Burke's backyard about their plight in the Northern Territory my interest was piqued.

Our interest began in 1980"s when we attended a horse course in Young where the lecturer described an Australian warmblood called a waler and its history as lighthorse mount but they were no longer available. I immediately set abut finding out how I could help these Australian horses be saved from extinction. It all started with the purchase of our 1st mare Providence Gaza who ended up being the d

am of Providence El Arish one of the founding stallion of the Waler Horse Society. We then managed to acquire 2 weanlings Providence Carbineer and Providence Bishari who originated from Jinka station in 1989. These 2 horse have become the foundation of our stud today. Between them they have produced sires such as Providence Redman.

So very humbled today to receive this award from our local RSL sub-branch in recognition of our contribution to our local Anzac March. My involvement is just so people can see these wonderful horses and is a tribute to the men and horses who served and gave their lives. It contains sand from the beach of Gallipoli. Lest we forget

NSW State Waler Championships:
What an event, such a fun filled day. Midnight attended again and didn’t put a foot wrong. She looked after Ashton at his first show.

Today marks the anniversary of the famous charge of Beersheba where 800 Australian lighthorse men charged the Turkish machine guns with bayonets with their trusty Walers. They had had no access to water, 70 Walers died in this charge and at least 60 were injured. While 31 men from the 4th Lighthorse also died. Lest we forget their sacrifice.

Meet Cam: he is a 10 month old black Waler c**t born 23rd June, 2024. Cam has exceptional bloodlines which include Jinka, Cordillo Downs and Newhaven. His sire is Providence Brandenburg WHSA reg F1116 (by Providence Bismark out of Messines Clover) and dam is Wedgetail Feldspar ( by NP Fonzarelli out of Newhaven Phoenix). Cam has had minimal handling and although currently unregistered he is eligible for registration. Looking to mature over 16hh, currently around 14hh.
