💧 Season Close Water Market Update | Murrumbidgee 💧

As the 2025/26 irrigation season draws to a close, the Murrumbidgee water market has finished on a firm note.

📊 Current market indicators:
• Allocation water trading between $380–$400/ML
• Forward allocations trading around $490/ML
• Carryover water valued at approximately $32/ML

Carryover values continue to support strategic water planning, while allocation prices remain underpinned by seasonal demand and storage outlooks.

Importantly, while the season is closing, Murrumbidgee Irrigation allocation trades remain open until 30 June, providing a final opportunity for water users to review and adjust their positions before the new water year.

Attention will now turn to winter inflows, allocation announcements and what they may mean for water availability and pricing moving forward.

I had the opportunity to catch up with Michael Gooden from Old Man Creek Angus a few weeks ago and spoke to him about the virtual grazing he is implementing on their property. I lifted this image from one of Michaels earlier social posts, it shows the use of the collars he uses to manage grazing. I think this is such an exciting new era in forage management, cost savings, livestock production and animal health. Well worth looking into if you are looking to maximise efficiency in a grazing system.
