If you’re a landlord in NSW, this is something you need to know.
Under the Residential Tenancies Act 2010, tenants experiencing domestic violence can legally end their lease immediately without penalty.
While this protection is absolutely necessary, it can leave landlords unexpectedly exposed to:
• Loss of rent
• Lease break costs
• Reletting expenses
• Potential damage claims
And here’s the important part… not all landlord insurance policies cover domestic violence related claims.
Protection isn’t just about having insurance, it’s about having the right insurance.
