The quote for a new kitchen came in at $40k. We told them to keep it.

Nine times out of ten, that’s the conversation we have with sellers in Essendon and around Moonee Valley. A full kitchen reno before you sell rarely comes back to you in the sale price. You’re paying for materials, trades and weeks of delays, all for a kitchen chosen to suit somebody else’s taste.

What actually moves buyers is a lot cheaper. Paint the cabinets, swap the handles, put in better lighting. That’s usually a weekend and a few thousand dollars.

When buyers walk into a kitchen, they’re checking that it’s clean, bright and works properly. Nobody has ever made an offer because of the stone benchtops.
