Friday funny... but with a message. It's always disappointing to see retailers and small businesses make mistakes and miss opportunities when negotiating leases that cost their business tens of thousands of dollars each year of their lease. It's even worse when they don't realise what they've left on the table.

I represent a number of small independant phamacy tenants and can see the impact the government's "60 Day Dispensing" is already having on our system of "community pharmacy' which is crucial to our overall healthcare system.

I'm not an overly political person and definitely not a One Nation supporter, but the tik tok video I shared on Twitter is a very scary dramatisation of the situation - one which would be funny if it weren't so true.

Lots of Pharmacies have listed with brokers to try sell their businesses and almost every pharmacy is looking at trying to reduce their costs to cover the losses 60 DD will cause. That means lots of landlords being asked to reduce rent and occupancy costs - landlords who report to mum & dad shareholders!! The knock on effects for our economy can't be underestimated.

2 years after Country Road vacated the building, the hoarding has come down and has finally opened its doors to reveal a stunning contemporary architectural design that complements the prominent sandstone facade and other heritage details of the building which was built in 1929-30 and listed on the heritage register in 1992. The store now boasts 3 levels after the original bank’s basement vault now houses menswear on the lower level. The ground floor is home to the brand’s womenswear and accessories while the mezzanine level serves as a visual experience space exhibiting a variety of artists and providing a stunning view of the retail space below.
I’m looking forward to popping in to see the fusion of Australian art and culture united with the brand’s French heritage,…. without the smell of damp carpet that always overcame my senses when visiting Country Road in that building!

"Banging Craft Pizza in 4 minutes"! Craft or Gourmet pizza's from a have been sweeping across Europe & the US during covid with leading the way in the UK with their shipping container robots. In from a vending machine goes back to 2014 when the owners of Pompeii Pizza in Bondi sold pizza gio pizzas for $12 from a vending machine at Chatswood. The concept has just been re-launch at North Sydney in a co-collaboration between Aldi Corner Store and Placer Robotics with the Australian designed and manufactured delivering restaurant style gourmet pizzas for $8.99.

The biggest change to the way I work in the past decade!! My desk no longer has a single piece of paper on it. Meeting notes are converted to text and emailed to participants before they get back to their desk! I can scribble notes for an article while enjoying a coffee without having to type it all out from scratch when I’m back in the office, and the whole time I’m using it, there are ZERO interruptions from notifications from apps or outlook! It’s like I have the ‘cloud’ all to myself! is ….. remarkable!!
