Over this week residents have filled the recyle bins with bed protectors x 2 and a huge range of soft plastics that do not belong in recycling.
The City of Melbourne have refused to empty 3 large recycling bins this week. These bins needed to be sorted out by hand and this was a filthy and dangerous job that was completed by volunteer members. Please DO NOT put your recycling into plastic bags. Dirty pizza boxes also do not go into recycling. Please crush cans, milk containers, rinse bottles and jars remove lids. Reduce, Reuse, Recycle ♻️
A message from you Helio Owners Committee.

Good news the roof top bbq has been repaired and both are now operating. Using baking paper keeps the plate clean.
Enjoy the rooftop area, with family and friends.
Please take all rubbish with you
Please do not smoke on any Helio balcony.

Thank you from your owners committee.

Never throw cardboard, over-sized or long objects down the waste chutes

The recycle and rubbish chutes have an angle at the bottom—if you throw cardboard boxes or long objects that obstruct the elbow, the entire chute gets jammed. If you have rubbish that is larger than a standard bin bag, do not force it down the chute; take it down to the B1 bin room.

Every week waste chutes need to be unblocked by our cleaning team or the Owners Corporation is required to pay specialists over $500 per visit because residents force cardboard or items that are too big into chutes and they are getting stuck.
