Great news for our local community!

Exciting news flash 💥

Our hopes of the James Hicks Pottery site at Princes Highway, Officer, becoming our new head office gained pace when our planning permit application was unanimously supported at a recent Cardinia Shire council meeting.

All members were in favour of the application for the site, known locally as ‘The Kiln’, which aims to amend the planning overlay to allow for office space to compliment a hospitality offering - and preservation of the kiln itself.

The application now moves to advertising, so we have our fingers crossed the amazing local support the development has received to rejuvenate this important historical site will continue 🤞

When life is tough, a simple gesture of generosity can mean a lot. Parklea is contributing directly to the cause, but this year we're reaching out for your support, to collect gifts and everyday essentials to bring a little Christmas cheer into their lives.

💬 Have your say on the new name of Officer District Park!

In partnership with the Bunurong Land Council Aboriginal Corporation and local Koori Kids, 6 indigenous names have been selected for you to choose from!

💙 The park is positioned on top of a hill with views over the southern part of the shire and out to Western Port, so it’s considered a culturally significant lookout point for the Traditional Owners.

Consultation on the new name is now open and will close on 10 June 2024.

The final name for the park will be unveiled to the community at the opening event for Stage 1 in late 2024.

The new IGA supermarket due to open soon in Timbertop marks the end of a 12 year project by Parklea to create a quality, connected estate with large blocks, attractive streetscapes, open space, parklands and, most importantly, a thriving sense of community.

Over a decade after the first machinery rolled onto the 80 hectare site at Officer, more than 2100 people now call Timbertop home.
Fresh produce will be delivered three times a week to the new supermarket, and the deli will offer a selection of pre-packaged gourmet goods and fresh meat.

IGA Liquor will sell an extensive range including boutique craft beers and imported and local wines.

IGA is looking for staff and we encourage Timbertop residents to apply. There will be full-time, part-time and casual positions available. Anyone interested can send their CV to: [email protected]

Timbertop IGA is expected to open in March.
