🐰 ANOTHER DAY OUT FERRETING 🐰

We headed out again today for another run with the ferrets. Unfortunately, the rabbits weren’t playing the game and we came home empty-handed — but that’s hunting, and not every trip is about the numbers.

Instead, we used the opportunity to try a few different things with the cameras and experiment with some new angles while the ferrets were working underground. 🎥

And we managed to capture some pretty bloody cool footage! 👌

Days like today are still valuable. It gives us a chance to learn, try new ideas and get a better look at how our little hunters work behind the scenes.

No rabbits today, but plenty learnt and some awesome videos to show for it. 🐾

🐇 QUICK MORNING RUN WITH THE YOUNG FELLAS 🐇

A quick morning run with the young fellas this morning turned into a pretty good little session — 6 rabbits in just 45 minutes! 💪🐇

Today was Tyler’s first time seeing the ferrets work, getting to watch firsthand how they work the warrens and get the rabbits moving.

It was also a big morning for Pip, with it being his first time having a lot happening at once and getting in amongst it grabbing rabbits as they came out.

There was plenty happening pretty quickly, but both boys handled themselves extremely well. It was great seeing them getting involved, learning as they went and keeping their heads when things got busy.

Pretty proud of the young fellas today. 👏

6 rabbits • 45 minutes • Plenty of action • Two young fellas gaining experience.

💡 SNOWY’S TIP

DON’T JUST COUNT THE HOLES — READ THE AREA AROUND THEM.

Ten burrow entrances with little evidence of recent use may tell a very different story from two entrances surrounded by:

fresh soil + fresh scats + tracks + recent sightings.

The number of entrances matters.

But activity matters more.

Bit of trapping for the afternoon

04/09/2026

A few traps set this afternoon, the helper have a good look at what’s happening waiting for rabbits to run out, (couldn’t tell him the ferrets weren’t there to chase them out 🤦‍♂️)
