🎙 Special Guest: Dr Harry Cooper and his team from Better Homes and Gardens will be filming throughout the day and greeting the Dachshund community.

The Tocal Homestead will be open, blacksmith demonstrations, and our famous homemade woodstove-cooked scones!

Important Info for Dog Owners:
• Dogs must be leashed at all times (except in designated off-leash areas).
• No dogs are allowed inside the Homestead house.
• No puppies or dogs will be sold on the day

Calling all culinary creatives and kitchen superstars! We have TWO exciting positions available in the Tocal College - RTO 91166 kitchen for highly motivated, adaptable individuals who are as passionate about customer service as they are about food.

Here’s a snapshot of what we’re looking for:

Cook responsibilities: 👩‍🍳
Preparing delicious, nutritious daily meals for the College’s residential students
Catering across an extensive event schedule
Menu planning and procurement of provisions
Staff rostering and supervision

Kitchen Hand responsibilities: 🍝
Assisting with food preparation
Providing friendly food and beverage service
Ensuring cleanliness of kitchen
Commercial dishwashing

At Tocal, we offer a great work/life balance, with simple rosters – either morning or late shift, with late shift usually finishing at 7pm. Every second weekend off is also a great incentive!

Today, Tocal College bids a heartfelt farewell to Janice McGoldrick, who has been a cherished member of our Tocal community for the past 10 years. Janice has played a vital role in our catering team as a Kitchen Cook, and her contributions to both our students and public groups have been truly remarkable.

While we are saddened to see Janice leave, we are also filled with joy knowing she will be spending well deserved time with her family in retirement.

JOB AVAILABLE: Domestic Service Officer, Cook

Classification: Domestic Service Officer Level 3
Location: Tocal College, CB Alexander Campus, Paterson NSW
Employment Status: Permanent
Division: Department of Primary Industries and Regional Development NSW
Branch: Education and Regional Services

Duties: The provision of catering services for students and guests using the dining room facilities at Tocal Agricultural Centre.

Hourly rate $31.14 plus shift allowances where applicable

Selection Criteria:

- Desirable commercial Cookery Trade Course, Stage I, II or III
- Food Safety Supervisors Certificate
- Experience in catering for large numbers
- Knowledge of safe food practices
- Experience in staff supervision
- Experience in staff rostering
- Experience in menu planning
- Experience in the procurement of provisions
- Knowledge of Health and Hygiene procedures
- Ability to communicate effectively.
- Ability to relate to young people.
- Demonstrated ability to relate positively to guests and the public.
- Demonstrated ability to work in a team.
- Drivers licence.
- Working with Children Check.

Note: The successful applicant will be required to work on a roster with shifts both during the week and on weekends.

Tocal College - RTO 91166 are pleased to be hosting the 44TH NSW State Square & Round Dance Convention 2024.

These dancers have a full weekend planned at Tocal but have generously offered the public a chance to twist and twirl with some of Australia's best. Strap your dancing shoes on and come to Tocal Hall on Sunday 11 August 2024 from 1.30-2pm to strut your stuff.

Christmas in July at Tocal College - RTO 91166 🎅🎄

Another stellar effort by our amazing catering and service teams! Our staff, students and friends came together to celebrate Christmas in July with a sensational meal in our great Hall.

Thank you to our special guests Westpac Rescue Helicopter Service - Official Site and Royal Agricultural Society of NSW for joining us and for their ongoing support of Tocal College and our rural communities.
