Staying at Sails By The Bay puts you at the top of the Peninsula with everything worth seeing within an easy drive.

Peninsula Hot Springs and the wineries around Red Hill and Main Ridge, under an hour out. Arthurs Seat Eagle gondola, Mornington's Main Street, the Dromana and Sorrento beaches, the Sorrento to Queenscliff ferry if you're heading further afield. Golfers, you've got some of the country's best links territory down the road at Cape Schanck and Moonah.

Prefer to stay local? Frankston Pier is a solid spot to swim or drop a line, Sweetwater Creek Nature Reserve is a genuinely lovely bush walk ten minutes away, and Frankston Arts Centre always has something on. Bayside Shopping Centre covers anything you've forgotten to pack.

The station is a short walk (straight run into Melbourne CBD on the Frankston line) and the airport bus stops out the front, no car required. Monash Peninsula campus and Chisholm are both close by too.

Come back at the end of the day to a fully self-contained apartment, a west-facing balcony, and a sunset over the bay.
