Penola is a special place, where Mary MacKillop and Julian Tenison Woods co-founded the uniquely Australian Sisters of Saint Joseph in 1866.

You can visit the Mary MacKillop Interpretive Centre during your time in Penola - the friendly volunteers will welcome you in the Interpretive Centre, which houses the MacKillop and Woods exhibitions, the research room, and the shop. In the Schoolhouse, there is an exhibition on Josephite education and displays in the living areas.

St Joseph’s Church, with its Shrine to Mary, the Old Convent and the early Cameron Home are also on site.

Mr Wilson is opening his door for everyone to come and see what all the fuss is about during the Down the Lane festivities on Sunday 19th May between 11- 2pm as part of the Penola Arts Festival.

Come and see Penola’s newest accomodation and the work the National Trust of Penola has put in to get it looking so good.

Mr Wilson is also offering those that walk through the chance to win a nights accomodation - now who wouldn’t love that!
