One Year On ❤️
Today marks ONE WHOLE year since I was hospitalised with a heart attack.
I’ll never forget that night. My plan was to simply go to bed and hope I felt better in the morning, but Ben — with what I can only describe as a sixth sense — came to check on me. He insisted we go to hospital, and that decision quite literally saved my life. For that, I will be forever grateful.
Kayleigh and Bradley were incredible, as always, stepping up with such calm strength, and although Dan was overseas at the time, he’s home now and looking after me in every possible way (including making me the newest member of the WHOOP brigade — I’m officially data-driven on recovery now!).
This past year has changed me in ways I never expected — not just physically, but mentally and emotionally too.
The team at Stong Pilates Innaloo l, along with my beautiful friends Eniko and Yudi, have been my anchors — pushing me, encouraging me, and keeping me safe through every step of rebuilding.
With the unwavering guidance of ‘The Gibbs’, and the wisdom and patience of Demelza, I’ve done some deep inner work — learning, growing, and facing parts of myself that I used to bury under “busy.” It’s been uncomfortable at times, but it’s also been freeing, grounding, and truly life-changing.
I am surrounded by the most incredible people — my children, my partner, my family, my friends, and my team. Each of you has played a part in my recovery, my growth, and my joy. I love you all more than words can express.
One year on, I can honestly say I’m in the best shape of my life — physically, mentally, and emotionally. I’ve never felt stronger, clearer, or more grateful.
And to top it off, I’m deeply honoured to be nominated as a finalist for reiwa.com Operational Leadership Award - a recognition that means so much after a year of reflection, rebuilding, and rediscovery.
