A wonderful monument to our Pioneer women!

Ever stopped to look at what this statue in Kings Park represents?

Set within a long lake and surrounded by fountains, the Pioneer Women’s Memorial honours the women who helped shape early Western Australia. Opened in 1968, the sculpture shows a mother and child moving forward through the water, symbolising courage, strength and tenderness, with the surrounding jets representing the journey toward their future.

Perth’s Big Cactus - officially titled Grow Your Own - has been a bold piece of public art in Forrest Place since 2011, standing out with its bright green, abstract form in the city centre.

Created by local artist James Angus, the sculpture was selected from over 200 international entries as part of a major public art initiative and reflects creative ideas around growth, community and modern art.
