THE ROLE OF ART IN OUR SPACE
Art was part of the conversation from the very beginning of designing the ZSA ZSA Property HQ with state of kin.
We believe artwork can fundamentally change the way a space is experienced — bringing energy, tension, humour, stillness or meaning. So, during the earliest concept stages, we began sourcing works that were important and thought-provoking in their own right, but that also resonated with the mood, purpose and aesthetic of the rooms they would inhabit.
The interior itself evolves as you move through the office, with each space having its own dialogue. The art became part of that — not simply something to fill the walls, but adding another layer in the relationship between architecture, interior, furniture and objects.
We worked with Ames Yavuz, STARKWHITE and Neon Parc to acquire works by Australian contemporary artists Reko Rennie , Abdul Abdullah , Tom Polo , Kaylene Whiskey, Jonny Niesche and diena georgetti . We were lucky to acquire some key works at Sydney Contemporary last year, while others were showcased at Art Basel adding to the provenance of the collection.
Each has its own voice. Some bring energy and humour; others strength, stillness or conversation. Some speak to ideas we strongly identify with — challenging the status quo, pushing boundaries and standing for what you believe in.
For us, the role of art is not simply how it looks, but what it adds to the experience of space.
