ONLY GET BIRTH, DEATH, MARRIAGE CERTIFICATES FROM THE OFFICIAL GOVERNMENT SITE

The WA Registry of Births, Deaths and Marriages (RBDM) is urging Western Australians to be careful when applying for birth, death or marriage certificates.

RBDM has become aware of commercial websites offering to obtain these important personal documents for more than twice the standard fee.

Be careful sharing personal, credit card or identification information on non-government, commercial websites.

These websites may mislead customers into believing they are official government services.

Only the WA Registry can issue legal WA birth, death and marriage certificates.

Apply for a birth, death or marriage certificate from The Registry of Births, Deaths and Marriages here: www.bdm.justice.wa.gov.au

Ever wondered if there are any short-term rental properties near where you live?

👀 Well wonder no more! There's now an interactive heatmap available to the public and you can search the register yourself to check if a specific address is correctly registered as a holiday home.

Check the register or map here: https://www.wa.gov.au/organisation/department-of-local-government-industry-regulation-and-safety/short-term-rental-accommodation-registration-data-and-heat-map

Since registrations of short term rental accommodation properties became mandatory on 1 January 2025, the Consumer Protection-operated STRA Register lists 11,556 properties across WA.

Local governments are also informed of all new STRA registrations within their jurisdictions, enabling them to check and verify the compliance of properties with local requirements.
