The auction we almost didnāt runā¦
Turned out to be one of the most memorable.
Funny how these ones play out.
The day before the auction, we had no registered bidders. It would have been easy to pull the pin, but knowing how unpredictable real estate can be, .hohm and I agreed to stay steady and give it every chance.
On the day, things started exactly how youād expect, slow, a little uncertain. But we held our nerve, and before long, two parties stepped forward.
One was an older couple who lived nearby. The other, a young couple searching for their forever home.
The older couple opened the bidding, and not long after, the young couple joined in. From there, it built into genuine competition, with the price moving past reserve and the energy completely shifting.
There was plenty of back and forth, the kind that keeps everyone watching closely, wondering whoās going to take it that one step further.
It looked like the older couple were going to secure the home. Then came a moment I donāt think anyone at that auction will forgetā¦
The older couple paused, looked at each other, then turned to the young couple and said they knew this was where their story should begin⦠and chose to step away from the bidding.
It left a pretty special feeling in the crowd. Smiles all around, and the young couple were absolutely over the moon.
A really incredible result, and a reminder that no two days in real estate are ever the same. Our role as an agent is to show up, stay calm, and give it everything.
