Welcome to Neo Interior Design, Hi I'm Lauren Stephenson - Managing Director. Coming from a family of designers, I have naturally had a love and flair for interiors. I started my journey in the furniture and tiling industry, enhancing my product knowledge. Then after 10 years of learning and studying interior design, I established Neo Interior Design in 2013. I quickly realised a lot of my clients

couldn’t visualise how products and colours would look in their homes and all they needed was someone from the outside looking in, with an eye for detail. Once I started to see how happy my clients were from the end results, I realised I had found my passion.

“I truly care about the end result and how your home makes you feel, your home should represent your personality and it’s my job to make it as beautiful, functional and practical as possible. I style every home like it’s going to be featured in a home magazine and I always go above and beyond for my clients.”

“Our mission is to guide people together through connected interiors with tailored personality, along with consistent flow, style and direction that brings a sense of delight, calmness, and serenity. In a busy world that can be fast-paced and chaotic at times we tend to live in a world where we work so hard in our everyday life, we believe in always rewarding and investing in ourselves to create a beautiful home to celebrate life in. It’s important to understand we deserve to live and surround ourselves in a tranquil and bliss environment that makes us feel grounded and safe. To enjoy a home to relax and connect with family and friends, whilst feeling proud, and comfortable.”

The real reason some homes feel different than others…

It's rarely the budget, and it's almost never one standout piece.

Good design isn't about getting one thing right. It's about creating a home where every detail feels connected to the next, and where the overall vision never gets lost along the way. 🤎

The homes that feel authentic are usually the ones that were planned that way.

Could your home benefit from a stronger overall vision?

The entry to a home sets the tone for everything that follows.

For this Mount Claremont project, every detail was selected to create an immediate sense of warmth, connection and ease.

The warmth of the timber detailing and contrasting black accents are introduced from the moment you walk through the door and carried throughout the home, creating a stronger sense of cohesion, flow and connection between each space. 🤎

This is where thoughtful design makes all the difference, when every element feels like part of the same conversation.

Because first impressions aren't just about how a home looks, they're about how it makes you feel.

The $50,000 mistake isn't usually one big decision. It's hundreds of small ones made without an overall vision.

Most homeowners don't set out to create a disjointed renovation.

But when decisions are made room by room, it's easy for materials, finishes and furnishings to stop speaking the same language.

Thinking about renovating? This is something worth keeping in mind. 🌿

Some careers are chosen. Others make perfect sense when you look back.

To be honest, the signs were always there.

A love for creating, noticing the details others overlooked, and understanding how spaces can completely shape the way we feel and live.

Funny how the things you're naturally drawn to often become the things you're meant to do. 🤎

Do this ONE thing before renovating or furnishing your home 👉🏽 it could save you thousands.

We recently met with a client who spent over $150,000 trying to recreate their dream home before engaging our design team.

The problem?

They now want to change almost everything.

One of the biggest misconceptions we see is people assuming they can simply copy and paste a Pinterest image or Instagram inspiration into their own home.

What most people don’t realise is that every beautiful space you see online has been carefully tailored to:
• The home’s architecture
• Natural light and orientation
• Existing finishes
• Ceiling heights and proportions
• The client’s lifestyle and needs

What works perfectly in one home can look completely out of place in another.

A well-planned design strategy before you start can save you from costly mistakes, unnecessary purchases, renovation regrets, and expensive rework later.

Save yourself the time, stress and money.

Just a little reminder... 👀

The earlier you bring a designer into the process, the easier the entire renovation tends to be. Less second-guessing, fewer expensive changes and a much clearer vision of where everything is heading.

Sometimes the best decision you make for your home is getting the right guidance from the beginning. 🤎

A yes please moment from our Peppermint Grove Master Bedroom. 🤍

Let's be honest, nobody walks into a bedroom and immediately notices the bedside table.

What people do notice is how the room feels, the warmth, softness and the way every material, texture and detail works together to create a space that instantly feels inviting.

Because the best bedrooms don't demand attention. They simply make you want to stay a little longer.

There’s something really special about seeing the potential in a home before the transformation begins.

For this Swanbourne project, the goal was never to overcomplicate the space, it was about restoring warmth, softness and character through thoughtful detailing that felt true to the home itself.

The result feels elevated without losing the charm that made the space worth renovating in the first place. 🤎

The difference between standard cabinetry and thoughtful joinery is how seamlessly it becomes part of the home itself.

Here, the curved detailing, warm timber tones and integrated shelving were designed to create softness, flow and connection throughout the space, while still feeling highly functional for everyday living.

Nothing feels separate or added on, every element has been considered as part of the bigger picture.

This is where custom design makes all the difference.

Save this for your future renovation inspiration.

Starting a full home renovation without an overall vision is usually where things start to unravel.

The homes that feel the most seamless are never the result of random decisions made along the way.

They’re created through thoughtful planning, understanding what’s worth investing in, and making sure every material, finish and detail works together from the very beginning. ✨

Good design should improve the way a home flows, functions and feels to live in long after the renovation is complete.

Which one do you think people overlook the most during a renovation? 👀
