This week our community lost a beautiful soul. Brian Semler participated in every Fraser Coast Dunga Derby over the past eleven years.

Brian was there from the beginning. In that first year, he would visit our Surveyors at Work office every week leading up to the event. He and Mick Irwin would chat about their thoughts on the impending Derby.

On 31 July 2025, the first day of the eleventh Dunga Derby, Stuart and Lincoln had a chat on camera with Brian. The footage didn’t make it into this year’s Dunga Dusted video, because both Stuart and Lincoln had simply started talking with Brian and hadn’t left enough space between the questions and answers.

In recognition of our friend Brian, we’ve now posted that final chat — unedited and in its entirety. Just a couple of Dunga mates talking on the side of the road.

Brian Semler, you are a true dungarian legend. We’ll be looking for you on the next Dunga Derby — not in person, but always in spirit.
