Lodge Picton again had a highly successful January meeting celebrating the life and works of the famous Scottish Bard, Robbie Burns.

With the hall at the Picton Masonic Centre appropriately decorated in a Scottish theme our members and guests enjoyed a great Scottish Feast with a side of Haggis and a very traditional Scottish dessert, Cranachan.

The traditional Address to the Haggis was ably conducted by Bob Mitchell and his small team including Hamish the Piper. Continuing the custom of many years our young Scottish Dancers had everyone’s feet tapping as they entertained but the standout was Eliza, 4 years of age and showing talent way beyond her years.

Our sincere thanks as always to the catering by Kathy from Georges on Argyle with a superb meal, and to our dear friends the ladies from Picton CWA who always just make our events special. Forget the CWA scones they need to start producing the Cranachan for which we are especially grateful in adding a special touch to the meal.

A very pleasant evening topped off by all participating in ‘Auld Lang Syne’
