AMERICAN PIE A LEGENDARY CLASSIC, LIVE IN MAREEBA!

Last Saturday night, just an hour from Cairns, the legendary Don McLean took to the stage at Savannah in the Round in Mareeba, and the anticipation was electric!

Sometimes, experiencing an artist live can be quite different from listening to a recorded track. American Pie was released in 1971, and 55 years later, Don is now in his 81st year. To expect the same youthful voice and delivery as the original recording simply isn’t realistic.

But there’s something incredibly special about hearing an iconic artist perform a song that has been loved for generations. ❤️

The crowd was buzzing with excitement, singing along to every familiar line and soaking up the moment. It wasn’t just about the vocals, it was about the memories, the nostalgia and the privilege of seeing a music legend perform one of the most recognisable songs in music history.
