Interesting - will check it out soon
Do you know the story behind this sculpture? 🐚
The Heard at Sea Art Installation was created as a place of reflection for families and friends who have lost loved ones along our coastline.
We worked with art and architecture collective Cave Urban to bring this vision to life.
The sculpture takes the form of a giant seashell - symbolising listening, calling out, and holding space for quiet reflection. In a special nod to community involvement, we invited locals to help find the shell that would inspire the final design. The chosen shell was digitally scanned and scaled to create the immersive structure you see today - large enough to sit or stand within.
Today, the memorial stands as a permanent, welcoming space for reflection, remembrance and connection.
