Whilst I think that there are points on both sides of the argument it really depends on your take. Certainly if you're wanting a property to live in then it makes sense to take advantage of any incentives or concessions on offer.
But as a pure opportunity for financial gain I think you would have to be very careful about your selection of a property to make it successful in the short term. I'm not saying it can't be done, in fact I think there are some opportunities out there. However it would be vitally important to make sure the property is suitable for long term living.
