The whole way through this pandemic, our advice to Victorians has remained the same: “stay home”. Now, as we begin to settle into a new normal, our message is “stay safe”. That means maintaining your physical distance. Using common sense. And as we ease restrictions, each of us playing our

Founded 7 years ago, VicAIA (Victorian Accommodation Industry Association) is the strongest supporter of short stay operators and Airbnb hosts.

As the voice of the short stay industry, we have taken on numerous battles on your behalf all the way to the Victorian Supreme Court and Supreme Court of Appeals. VicAIA was also actively involved at the parliamentary hearings about the modifications to the Owners Corporation Bill that came into force in February of this year.

It is only because of the success of these cases that a short stay industry exists in Victoria today. We have established the legality of our industry but this is not the end of the road for short stay operators and the issues we face.

We invite you to become part of VicAIA and join those committed to a sustainable short stay industry. Rally behind the work we are doing today and help us become a united voice for the short stay industry. Better still, take advantage of 50% membership prices during the Winter Special! More info on vicaia.com.au/joinus

In August, VicAIA will have the Annual General Meeting, during which time we will be nominating and voting for committee members. If you are interested in making an even greater difference in the short stay industry, join the committee and become involved! For committee inquiries, contact [email protected].

If you manage or own short stay apartments in Melbourne, then this is important for you.

If your OC decides to impose a $100 or $300 mandatory induction for every check-in, what can you do?

VicAIA is fundraising to draft a letter of advise for all members in case they find themselves in this situation and be able to continue your short stay rentals.

Fore more info and to donate, click below:

Hi! We're still almost $5,000 short, please donate if you haven't already. VicAIA will organise legal action against mandatory inductions that curtail short stay accommodation in strata buildings.
