FIRST DOWNPAYMENT FOR ROWVILLE RAIL!!!
It has been a long time coming, but Rowville Rail is a massive step closer! We are putting $475 million towards its construction, with the details in tomorrow’s federal budget. We are open to looking at all options - heavy rail, light rail, or other technology - to make it happen.
We have been pushing for this for a long time. In recent months, I have had detailed discussions with the Monash Vice Chancellor and other interested stakeholders.
From a transport perspective, we have now got money to contribute to:
- Airport rail
- East West Link ($3b still on the table)
- North East Link
- Rowville Monash Rail.
- Monash Freeway upgrade
- Henderson Rd bridge
