That story’s not playing out the same way.

Not long ago, if you sold your $1,000,000 home, you could find a beautiful, low-maintenance property for around $600,000 — ensuite, modern kitchen, great location. You’d gain lifestyle and lose the stress of upkeep, all while topping up your bank account.
Fast forward to now…
That $600K price point barely gets you in the door.
This means many would-be downsizers are frozen. There's no clear next step, and very little lateral movement in the market like there used to be. You're left with a valuable asset… and nowhere to go.
